About Us

CheeseMe Pictures came about due to my love for photography and my love for children. When my son was born we took him to 2 “studio” shoots for “professional” pictures during his first year, and I was disappointed that they failed to catch my son’s personality. In all honesty, I think the whole ordeal was really rather upsetting to him. I mean, who could blame him being in a strange place with strange people trying to get him to sit in a tiny area and look toward bright lights and smile.

So, after that, I started trying out my own photography skills. I wanted to catch those specific moments in day to day life that made my kids special. After trying some studio type shots, I realized I still wasn’t getting “my kids” in the pictures. I was getting a dressed up posed version of what my kids looked like, and that wasn’t at all what I wanted.

Later on, I figured out that some of my favorite shots of my kids were the ones that I caught at the park, in the pool and while they were playing around the house. So, catching those moments became my passion, and CheeseMe Pictures started its birth as a company. Some people may think that CheeseMe is an odd name for a business; I really didn’t have a choice. It actually comes from my son. Every time I pulled out my camera, he would jump in front of me and yell “Cheese me, Mama!” and that’s how my company was named.
